Telepsychiatric Consultations for Clinics
Our consultation service is frequently used by hospitals. We offer both telephone and video consults, depending on what your organization needs.
Telephone Consults
- The attending physician/other medical professional and our provider discuss the patient’s presenting symptoms and possible treatment options, via the telephone.
- Our provider sends a summary of the consultation to the requesting professional at the conclusion of the consult.
Video Consults
If the requesting physician/other medical professional determines the patient warrants a face-to-face assessment with the consulting provider, there are two available options:
Routine Telepsychiatry Consults
- The attending physician/other medical professional requests a video consultation between the consulting provider and a patient requiring further evaluation.
- Consult occurs within a pre-determined timeframe and typically involves patients already admitted to the hospital.
- The consulting practitioner subsequently provides a written evaluation to the requesting professional.
Emergent Telepsychiatry Consults
- The attending physician/other medical professional requests a video consultation between the consulting provider and a patient requiring further evaluation.
- Consult occurs within a pre-determined timeframe and typically involves patients who are present in the emergency room.
- The consulting practitioner subsequently provides a written evaluation to the requesting professional.
